So. I just watched the last half hour or so of the new reality dating show More To Love and I am feeling a little bitchy about it. There are some really pretty women on that show and they totally seem to hate themselves! Why?? I mean, I know why, it is just sad.

I can’t help but feel that this show is exploiting women with self esteem issues even more than your average reality show fare does and that does not impress me at all.

What I don’t get is why how much someone weighs has to be the hook for the dating show. Obviously heavier people fall in love and are loved by others so why not just put women

I saw a commercial last week, not sure if it was for this show or another new one coming down the pipeline, but it said that the average woman takes a size 16 dress and the average reality show woman is a size 2. Why not just change that? Why do all the other shows have to be populated with skinny chicks? It would make more sense to (and be less insulting) to simply have regular sized women on all the shows instead of having to have one special one for them? To me, it’s implying that “regular” men don’t want “normal” sized women.

And why did the guy they chose have to be heavier too? What, thin men don’t like women with some meat on their bones?

I think this is a shitty attempt for producers and the network to capitalize on the plight of the overweight people of America and it is just plain insulting. On so many different levels.

Wow. So I just finished reading probably one of the saddest, most tragic stories ever and unfortunately for all involved it is a totally true one.

Yesterday in San Antonio Texas police were called to a home by a woman who was reporting a crime her sister had just committed. When they arrived at the scene they found something so awful and so disturbing that barely a word was said as they searched the house.

The first thing the alleged perpetrator said was, “I killed my baby! I killed my baby!” And she had done just that.

The worst part for the officers who had to investigate the scene and for the woman herself, is that she didn’t just kill her baby, she cut of his little 3 1/2 week old head, sliced off the face, carved out the brain, ate them and then had a snack on some of his brains and three of his little baby toes as well.

But what people need to remember when they read about this case is that, it’s not like she did it just because she hated her kid or anything, even though this happened only a week after her husband (or boyfriend, can’t remember) it’s pretty clear she is crazy.

I know, I know, everyone says the devil made them do it, but apparently this woman has a history of mental illness and post partum depression or post partum psychosis could definitely have exacerbated her mental breakdown.

Yes, there are some terrible people out there who do awful things simply to hurt others, but I hope you all remember that there are also a lot of troubled and mentally ill people out there, and sometimes as bad is it sounds, they cannot help the things they do. I wish it were different but that is the reality of the situation.

Sometimes people do things that they will regret for the rest of their lives, like this woman who ate her baby, we should sympathize with her. Think about it, what could be worse, when she get the right meds, than realizing that you ate your baby boy?
