“Silent war” in Afghanistan

silent war in afghanistan

Anyone else notice that the thunder from the “silent war” in Afghanistan is building to a steady rumble with the promise of a shrieking shit storm?

What is Real Love? Really Truly?

talia phillips blog

What is real love?

When people die those left behind seem to always put the person on a pedestal. They see the dead dude(ette) as this perfect, kind, blah blah blah person and it drives me nuts.

My dad died a few years ago and I am perfectly willing to admit he could be a dick, yeah, he was a good guy, love him to bits but come on, he was far from perfect. If I was to say that to some people they would think I was a monster. It’s as though it’s blasphemy to say anything remotely negative about a dead person in this society. Why?

By knowing him good and bad I can say I honestly loved him. I loved the person he truly was, not some puffed up idea of what others think he was. In my opinion they aren’t loving him at all, they are only loving someone they made up, not the true him.

But that’s just me.

My Very First Question of the Day

barn-and-pier!

This is my very first question of the day post and already I have two instead of just one!

I want to make a quick note letting you all know that I am actually looking for answers to all the questions I post in this section of my blog. I honestly don’t know the answers so feel free to reply if you know them, or if you want to leave a witty answer I’ll accept that too!

Numero ONE: How do you pronounce the name Piers? Is it like the word “pierce” or “piers” like the wooden things you walk on that jut out over the water?

Number DEUX: Why are barns so tall? Animals are always on the bottom floor and even taking into consideration a loft it seems like a lot of wasted space up there.

Thanks for playing today!
