Don’t all reality shows exploit people? It’s not only women who have issues with their self esteem that are being used for so-called entertainment. Take a look at the whole ‘get rich and famous in instant’ scene with shows like Big Brother using peoples urge for fame to ridicule them in the name of entertainment. Looking back, my comment seems a bit harsh. I’m not saying you’re wrong, simply that the media seems to have latched onto peoples desires/distress as a new form of ‘entertainment’.
