I’m sure I’m not the first to think of this but I am going to reiterate it for your viewing pleasure. I think that there is a slight to high possibility that those misogynist men we were hating on all these years, you know the ones who claim it’s a woman’s place to stay home cook buns in the oven (both ovens), were right all along.
Think about it. Women got all business-y and stuff, wanted to be out in the workforce, be seen as equals to men and wanted to assert power over their own bodies. Ranting about how “just because they are female doesn’t mean you have to have kids” and “not all women have that maternal instinct you know.” Goddamnit it was their turn to get out there and conquer some mountains. Great. Fine. I am sure there are some women who don’t want to have kids BUT.
But but but, a LOT of those same women are now treating their dogs like children. They buy their pampered pooch cute little outfits, suits, ties, party dresses, diamond studded collars (real diamonds I might add), some even push the doggies around in prams. These are the same women who claimed to not have maternal instincts. Don’t they see what they are doing? They are turning their puppies into kids to feed the same maternal instincts they decry.
Me thinks that it’s great and fine to have a puppy and spoil it like you would a child. Whatev. Just don’t pretend it’s anything else but what it is. Mothering instincts coming out when no one is looking, or, well, when everyone is looking if you live in Hollywood.

I think it’s safe to say that I’m not alone. Those words might be true at all. I mean it’s okay to have dogs, but to pamper them to an extent is baby-ing and treating them like children!
