What is real love?
When people die those left behind seem to always put the person on a pedestal. They see the dead dude(ette) as this perfect, kind, blah blah blah person and it drives me nuts.
My dad died a few years ago and I am perfectly willing to admit he could be a dick, yeah, he was a good guy, love him to bits but come on, he was far from perfect. If I was to say that to some people they would think I was a monster. It’s as though it’s blasphemy to say anything remotely negative about a dead person in this society. Why?
By knowing him good and bad I can say I honestly loved him. I loved the person he truly was, not some puffed up idea of what others think he was. In my opinion they aren’t loving him at all, they are only loving someone they made up, not the true him.
But that’s just me.

Good point you make with clear honesty but what about what “love” actually means. Interpretation of that seems to be very individual but so often presumed to be something that we all have the same common understanding of. Very very similar to the idea of who we really truly are!

In my opinion a true love is when a person loves you without any expectation/ reason…..

In my opinion we cannot define love, love means how much we care other person and how much support is given to other person in trouble? Love is define as how much we are honest with other person.

I had a similar experience with my father — he’s dead now but I think most people try to remember his best qualities.

When it comes to love as a topic, it’s complicated though broad issue. Love has no definition I believe but has to be felt and must be sincere in it. When it comes to loving someone, we sacrifice. No hesitation in expressing one’s feeling and should be value. Loving someone is not easy especially being hurt.
